This pin shows Flounder (polochon in French) on a blue box on which is written Walt Disney Home Video (in gold). It was issued for the video release of The Little Mermaid in France, and is marked "Disney Taiwan" on the reverse, which suggests a date of the very early 1990s (original movie release was 1989).

It was only available through a contest at the time in France. One only!!

These special Cast Lanyard Pins are direct from the Disney Pin Vault. The ten (10) featured designs were created for the first collection of Cast Lanyard pins in 2002. The pins were sampled but never ordered or distributed at the Walt Disney World® Resort. Guests got a sneak preview of these pins at Disney's Pin Celebration 2004 - A Family Pin Gathering.
